You don't wait for base building or any other crap. As for the multiplayer, The gameplay is truly great. You can upgrade your units any way you want level wise and they will perform just as fine. Although most people will say that the squads only really have one upgrade path in the singleplayer, that is pretty much wrong. The singleplayer is more of a dungeon crawly, RPG that utilizes the very basic tactics of the multiplayer, but it has a lot of customizable elements that is suited for your style of play. The singleplayer and multiplayer are two completely different beasts. The lore of DoW and Warhammer 40k spans over 20-30ish years, and it is fascinating. It is a much more.fleshed out universe, that has expanded greatly over the years.
